ALOHA PETROLEUM DONATES OVER $5,000 TO ALOHA HARVEST

HONOLULU, HAWAII (April 12, 2023) – Aloha Petroleum recently donated $5,115.45 to Aloha Harvest on behalf of its customers. The funds were raised through canister donations at participating Aloha Island Mart convenience stores across the state in January and February 2023. The donation will support the organization’s mission to rescue food and distribute it to the Hawaii community.

“It’s always so wonderful to see our customers continuously give to non-profits that are making a positive impact on our community,” said Casie Bui, director, sales operations and marketing for Aloha Petroleum. “Aloha Harvest does incredible work by collecting and redistributing food that nourishes our Oahu community.”

“With the community’s ongoing food and financial donations to support our operations, we have been able to divert more than 32 million pounds of food from going to waste in the past 23 years,” said Phil Acosta, Executive Director of Aloha Harvest. “We are so grateful for our long-standing partnership with Aloha Petroleum, and for the generosity of their loyal customers.”

Aloha Petroleum has previously used its collection canister program to support numerous other non-profit organizations, including The Salvation Army, Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Red Cross – Hawaii Chapter, Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii, and The Queen’s Medical Center.

Founded in 1999, Aloha Harvest has evolved into the largest nonprofit in the state dedicated to food rescue and sustainability. The dual purpose of their mission, addressing food insecurity while creating a less wasteful food system, is truly what makes them unique. By ensuring that the state’s precious food resources are maximized to feed the people, they are helping to create more efficient and resilient communities throughout Hawaii.
